Here is the latest update that all of you have been waiting for. BUDDY, Your emotional robot has evolved considerably.
BUDDY HAS HIS OWN PERSONALITY AND DEVELOPS HIS OWN EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
The Expressions, stances and attitudes that make BUDDY who he is are expanding daily.
To make sure that BUDDY adapts to the habits and routines of you, your family or friends, we have added many new BUDDY expressions that enable richer interactions with you or your loved ones!
BUDDY can use his full range of emotions that he would naturally express during the day, or you can tell him to take a specific trait: Happy, grumpy, angry, sad, sick, timid, and many others. You can easily change the trait whenever you wish.
Sometimes BUDDY’s teeth might chatter because it’s too cold at home or he might be upset if the WiFi connection is bad or if you are rough with him. Occasionally BUDDY might feel sick and you can comfort him (virtually). Sometimes he’ll grumpy in the morning because nobody talks to or interacts with him, or sometimes for no particular reason. Looks like this morning he’s in a bad mood.
You are in control, with the power to customize BUDDY to make him the partner of your choice, or to let him grow and evolve at his own place.
BUDDY SEES THE WORLD IN 3D
Because of the overwhelming support we have received for BUDDY during our initial crowdfunding campaign, we decided to offer to a 3D camera (“RealSense” type like) for your emotional robot, to give BUDDY 3-dimensional vision with depth management.
Equipped with a three-lense camera (a conventional camera, an infrared camera and an infrared laser projector), your social robot can easily track all movements and gauge the depth of the objects and/or people in his field of vision. As a result, BUDDY interprets hand, arm and head movements without any physical contact.
With his 3D camera, BUDDY can scan the environment that surrounds him and determine whether he is seeing an object, a face, an animal or a plant.
